Letra  “Flying free to love”

Amarme a mi

(English)

"Flying free to love"

Freedom I feel incessantly, Freedom when I can fly

Freedom is a reflection of my thoughts,

Freedom begins in me and not outside of me

Freedom always exists in me even though it is not legal here

The birds sing to join us and remind us of this.

Love, to embrace

Love, to kiss

Love if you feel like crying

Love if cheerful

Love without judgment to you

Love with nothing to wait

Love me

Love, because I came here for that,

To love is the solution to be free and fly.

Flying feels like this, without weight or anxiety.

Fly, like an eagle, Fly without borders, I always dreamed it,

Fly without direction or a plan, surprises for me and for you.

Fly, fly you are free, yes, Free to choose, Yes, Free to feel, Free to love yourself, Free to love yourself, Free to love yourself.

The phenomenal violín player David Mendoza arrived to San Miguel de Allende 6 Years ago as a street performer. He gave everything from his heart, the most wonderful sounds to the Principal Square in San Miguel de Allende. Powerful, bright tunes with love that caught the attention of all people walking around.

In these days of true sadness, to perform art is one of the many important things to do. Music has the power to transmute and transform blue feelings into pure positive thinking of joy and reconciliation. David has one of the most wonderful gifts to give people emotional joy, feel naturally involved and sing alongside with his personal artistic touch of interpretation of repertoires in every and each concert, he provides this good vibes feeling that all we need.

David become one of the favorite musicians for the community in San Miguel, he is not far to be one of the best interpreter musicians around over America. People always says about him..Oh, you’re going to love him – “David is on my ‘A’ list for San Miguel entertainment – I bring ALL my visitors.”

He used to play with the virtuoso from the guitar Gil Gutierrez, his intensity and sheer talent had the audience riveted since 2015 that he arrived here in San Miguel. Without music and from somewhere behind his closed eyes, his violin literally erupted. He stole the show and our hearts in one fell swoop.

David’s music transports the listener from chaotic angst through catharsis to a healing tenderness and occasionally even playfulness. As he matures as an artist/composer, his music only gets better. His listeners celebrate the unleashing of his creative genius in both writing and performing. To be part of David’s journey is nothing short of a privilege. Praised by the Grammy nominee Michael Hoppè as -David’s Wonderfully expressive violin playing is, quite simply, one of the most beautiful sounds one can hear-.

David Mendoza presents Christmas Concert

Tres Fuentes Hotel, Baeza # 7, San Miguel de Allende

Concert David Mendoza presents “Christmas concert “ December 20th, 2021 Tres Fuentes Hotel Baeza #7 5:00 pm $650 pesos By Rondi Jones

The violin phenomenon David Mendoza who is one of the favorite musicians of the San Miguel de Allende U.S and Canada Community since 2015, will sharing a special Christmas concert at Tres Fuentes Hotel Baeza # 7 Centro, Presenting a Traditional Christmas Carols and Classic music repertoire with the great Mexican pianist Liliana Gutierrez, his blood family Patricia Díaz Soprano, Baritone Arturo Mendoza as well as Arturo Mendoza Jr. at Double Bass.

David’s way of playing it’s quite simply a new and profound way of expression on México during the last 7 years. His versatility is a thing that no one in town can do, dominating a range between Hungarian violin style and New classics and Jazz performances are making David as one of the preferences of the SMA community, without forgetting his expressive melodic lines of sound that literally make his crowd cry of joy and love in each concert he presents, playing and loving music like his last minute of living. In San Miguel people are used to listen fascinated by surroundings, humming birds engaged in aerial combat feeding, deep blue sky punctuated by a passing flock of egrets, the ebbing of the sun on the trees and the sublime sound of David Mendoza and his talent through magical violin music that he shared every morning during his first years in SM infront of the Parroquia. Moments of serenity often pass by hectic lives, yet in the small courtyard was peace and wonder when he played, the gift of skill from a young virtuoso, blessed with the ability to transform a simple afternoon into an abiding memory. David’s diversity and expertise come from a childhood love of music and a family deeply rooted in traditional and classical music. Like words, music matters. It is our heartbeat, the sounds that define our lives and David’s music, both popular and of his own creation leave a deep sense of the universal sublime."
Beginning his career at the age of 6 years old as a natural expressive player, and grown up in a musician’s family, his sensibility became quickly as a pure melodic player. David´s unique musicality born in many ways, hearing and stimulating his ears and soul with huge Bach compositions at the age of 5 years old as his favorite music to enjoy, learning many years as self-taught piano classic music, taking violin lessons at a very short age, he understood his very own way to compose and to perform in big crowds in a very simple way of expression.

Praised by the Grammy nominee Michael Hoppè as -David’s Wonderfully expressive violin playing is, quite simply, one of the most beautiful sounds one can hear-. Everything mentioned makes this a Christmas concert you cannot miss. Concert tickets available Biblioteca Pública as well as Lobby Bar of Tres Fuentes Hotel.

Without a doubt David Mendoza is a great promise of music, multi-instrumentalist and better known as an incredible violinist who lives in San Miguel de Allende. Beyond his understanding of music, David Mendoza understands the feelings. He knows how to reach them with a violin lunge, with notes placed in the places his heart asks. Listening to it is healing. Every note he plays tells you a story and they reveal a truth that is hidden from many, denied by others: that the beauty of the simple is what we need to heal this wounded world, eager for music and color. David is a musician with all his lyrics, thirsty to discover the secrets of music that makes him vibrate to transmit it to people; a musician who seeks to grow and touch the sky with the people he plays for, with his friends. David knows that music is a shared path. Or as Grammy nominee Michael Hoppe describes him, as “wonderfully expressive violinist, one of the most beautiful sounds you can hear”

For this concert he will be playing his own musical language through his healing original music, a kind of divine channeled meditation through his trasendental music where you’ll feel healed, as well as his own musical arrangements of the European music from the Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi who was trained at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan, all this beside the very talented Liliana Gutierrez Mexican pianist, and the amazing Mexican drummer Juan José Cerdeneta. David’s music is influenced by classic composers like Mozart and Beethoven, Impressionists like Debussy, and Ravel, as well as new classics like Ennio Morricone, Philip Glass and Steve Reich, without forgetting the amazing Australian/British World Music Band Dead Can Dance led by Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry as well as the alternative British Rock Band Radiohead.

If you have not had the pleasure and privilege of seeing David perform, now is your chance. He and his musical guests have a gorgeous new venue in the beautiful SMA Centro, at the beautiful jardín of Hotel Tres Fuentes on Baeza # 7 at the Back of the gorgeous Parque Benito Juárez. I met this marvelous artist about a year ago, while he was playing the violin and I really got surprised about the wonderful things that I was listening and all the emotions I was feeling, and I’ve always been attached to music, but living the experience to hear David play the violin has been the most sensational sensations, it’s not only the pleasure to hear every single note, it’s the passion David shows in every show, every time I hear him play it feels like the very first time and I shudder but I always discover something different.

Definitely David Mendoza is one of the most talented humans I’ve ever met, it’s a huge honor to be able to enjoy the talent, passion, and the creativity he has. It’s amazing to feel the music in a different way. It’s great to have this kind of Mexican talents near us. When he performs you can tell the big commitment he has with the music, with his projects. Every genre he plays it shows the big effort that he has made over the years in his musical career, which will surely continue to grow thanks to that perseverance and love he has for music. We must continue being part of that support that he needs, be part of this growth… in each concert, each presentation, so that the marvelous talent that he has can continue to reach new ears and hearts over the world.

He has the power to wrap you with bright atmospheres of love with each note he makes with his violin, that sometimes turn into tears of joy, is just the big passion he has to perform his gorgeous music, or like Grammy nominee Michael Hoppè says about him: -Wonderfully expressive violin. Quite simply…One of the most beautiful sounds you can hear-.

I’m glad that I can see him live and enjoy a beautiful night with delightful music, a great conversation and the one of most delicious dinner in San Miguel. It’s an experience you will not regret!

For his next concert he will be sharing Motion picture soundtracks from classic movies like “Cinema Paradiso” by the Grammy winner Ennio Morricone, “Interstellar” from the Oscar winner Hans Zimmer as well as “Titanic” by Oscar winner James Horner and more. When I met David Mendoza, I was captivated by the amazing art and passion he gives and share with everyone who wants to listen, appreciate, and stand for an art so original and gorgeous itself. Seeing the overflowing talent of a person who loves music touches the spirit, transforms your energy, and turns it into brilliant colors, in unique sensations and fills you with emotions that you can’t describe, but surely you can feel, and it undoubtedly heals you, in some way your heart recognizes the sound and with your eyes closed it takes you to beautiful landscapes that you can only imagine, magical and mistic places.

David Mendoza surrenders to his passion and everything in front of, below and around his vibe disappears. He connects to the Universe along with his music and transforms the energy of the world. In these times when what we see, hear and feel is pain, music, his music will always be a medicine for the soul. A caress to the senses. In every genre he plays you can really feel de soul of the melody; and I must say, not all musicians can do this for you, only a few real artists can wrap you into the soul of the music… For a moment I was speechless, then I start thinking about what I dream of and then, to very finale of the concert I felt so much happiness and an energy I can’t describe, you just have the need to thank him for this amazing gift he just gave to you in his wonderful and captivating performance. I lived a magical night in the heart of Mexico thanks to his art and his talent and to close with a flourish this magical night, the Casa Rosada Hotel offers you a delicious dinner with the Mexican and very talented Daniel Salazar. I absolutely want to repeat this experience! Go and live it yourself !

David expresses his music like a bird singing, with a natural way, that heals every person in contact with his vivid melodies. With simple melodies, romantic chords, expressive rhythm and profound musical colors through his artistic performances. Or like the Grammy nominee says… -Wonderfully expressive violin... Simply, one of the most beautiful sounds you can hear.

Several years ago, my cousin and I discovered David Mendoza playing his violin around San Miguel de Allende. He was Gil Gutierrez`s violin player, the Mexican guitar virtuoso in town. The sound was mesmerizing, magnetic, beguiling. His lyrical strains played on in my head and heart between encounters. There was something undefinable about him and his playing that wraps you with just the first piece you hear.

Varieties of music have always been an energizing passion, an irresistible motivator, an urgent catalyst in my life. So, I was thrilled to follow this young man and his fiddle as played in restaurants around town. Every time we saw him, he just got better and better.

I have been captivated and enchanted by music—and lucky in both my deliberate and random encounters—from shepherding five children through the University of Texas Junior String Project for twelve years to bouncing at rousing Police concert, from happening upon a remarkable Texas fiddler playing in the mountains of Germany, to coming upon a Classical choral group performing in a historic church outside Schwabish Hall, from Opera in Milan, Italy, to house concerts in our family homes. Yet it is David’s violin that moves me the most. His powerful energy elevates me to another frequency level.

Once my cousins Debra & Charlie and a colleague Joseph heard David at Paprika where he was joined by his talented mother. We sat at their table and felt so lucky, so thrilled and inspired by the program of the evening where he plays his original music as well as new age music from European composers, it was just one of the most memorable moments of my life. David’s playing does for me a range of what Bo Diddley and Offenbach do.

For this concert he is going to have very special guests, people who teach him his first musical steps, I am talking about his blood family. Beside his parents Patricia Díaz, Arturo Mendoza, at the voice and his brother Arturo Mendoza Jr. at the Double Bass ,as well as David´s pianist Liliana Gutierrez, they will play one of the favorite genres in the world for people - Mexican and south American folk music- who is the first kind of music David learned and made him the big musician he is today. Music from amazing famous interpreters Like “Mercedes Sosa”, “Violeta Parra” and “Silvio Rodriguez” that makes this music one of the most deep and enjoyable genres over the world. This will take place in the gorgeous garden of “Tres Fuentes Hotel Boutique” at Baeza # 7, right next to the beautiful and biggest park in San Miguel de Allende Centro “Jardin Juarez”. Tickets available at Biblioteca Publica Insurgentes # 25.

Come discover what David does for you!

There are countless experiences, places and people that make San Miguel de Allende the unique and wonderful city that it is. Holding a place near the top of that long list must surely be the supremely talented young violin virtuoso, David Mendoza.

If music is the voice of the soul, then David is a messenger. Perhaps the one thing that sets him apart is the emotional connection he builds with the audience during his performances. His flawless technical skills draw you in, but it is his confidence, his energy, and the vibrant passion for his craft that holds you there. He gets lost in the music and invites you to join him.

Growing up in a family of musicians in Mexico City, David began playing violin when he was just 7 years old. At the age of 15 he earned a place at the prestigious National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City. Performed with some of the best musicians in San Miguel and collaborated with the Grammy nominated composer Michael Hoppè who has hailed David as “a wonderfully expressive violinist … it’s quite simply one of the most beautiful sounds one can hear”.

For this concert he will be playing his own musical language through his healing music, a kind of divine canalization where you’ll feel healed, as well as his own musical arrangements of the European music from the Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi who was trained at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan, all this beside the very talented Liliana Gutierrez Mexican pianist, and the amazing Mexican drummer Juan José Cerdeneta. When I first encountered David Mendoza was about 4 years ago when I took my visiting friends to “Bistro Mi Casa” for the wonderful Gil Gutierrez band, where he was his violin player and we all 3 were like “WOW! who is that fantastic Violinist?!” We met his talent and I have been following David Mendoza ever since - at various places, I got surprised he is also an excellent percussionist, pianist and a wonderful composer; it is a complete journey to feel the colors and sensations that his music projects. I have heard him play a lot of his original compositions and I felt tears in my eyes every time I hear them live, it’s also a complete experience of love in every note he makes. I barely have words to describe how talented this man is, when he is performing the room fills up with so many emotions, like joy, happiness, love, and many more, sometimes indescribable; I’ve seen him sharing the stage with many talented musicians and it’s just magical how the music intensifies it’s feeling. Definitely he increases the sound of every band he plays in. I have bought his first album “Birds fly in” and I loved it! And his new album “Love in times of war” it’s just terrific!

No one else plays violin like him and definitely no one else in San Miguel de Allende plays the music he chooses for his concerts. His musical influences go from New Classics like Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone to Rock like Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Sigur-Ros and King Crimson, as well as Contemporary Jazz like Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Ben Wendel, Tigran Hamasyan or minimal music like Steve Reich and Philip Glass and some gypsy violin players like Stephan Grappelli and Roby Lakatos. He thinks like an Absolut musician, thinking like a composer, director and performer at the same time. Or like the Grammy nominee Michael Hoppè says “Wonderfully expressive violin playing is…quite simply one of the most beautiful sounds one can hear”

For his next concert he will be sharing Motion picture soundtracks from classic movies like “Cinema Paradiso” by the Grammy winner Ennio Morricone, “Interstellar” from the Grammy winner Hans Zimmer as well as “Titanic” by Grammy winner James Horner. Beside the very talented “Liliana Gutierrez” Mexican pianist.

This will take place at the beautiful patio in the important architectonic piece of San Miguel de Allende “Casa Rosada Hotel” in Cuna de Allende # 12.

Tickets are available on Biblioteca Publica, Insurgentes #25, Centro, SMA as well as in the Lobby Hotel Casa Rosada. Ticket includes a special menu (main course and one drink) by the amazing chef “Daniel Salazar”. Dinner time at 6:30 pm

David Mendoza is an extremely talented human being, not only because of his extraordinary musical talent, but because of that love and intensity that he projects with his musical performance. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the sweet and vibrant music he makes, full of soft and energetic melodies, strong chords and enveloping rhythms that fills the soul with found emotions, that puts you in another world. Many of us cannot help crying between the marvelous pieces, getting excited like children and feeling our soul dance. Definitely an amazing, diverse and unique show that leaves every space and every corner vibrating by his marvelous talent. David Mendoza is a being that harbors such indescribable majesty that it is impossible not to notice it when he is on stage, you can perceive that he is in his element, like a bird in the air; he shares with you all his love and passion for everything he does… that apart from playing the violin wonderfully, he is an expressive on the piano and an intense on drums and a great creator as a composer; creativity, love, passion and intensity are what defines him as an artist, as honest as he is dedicated.

There is a truly unique gift on David, a very special one. A single man composing, playing the violin, piano, percussion and singing beautiful melodies for the same song is something that makes him understand music like no other and perform like just a few musicians in the world can do, likewise, seeing him share the stage with talented musicians and listening to his fusion of talents makes you shudder and get excited in a different way...

David has the peculiarity that, although you can perceive the complexity in his musical interpretation, he makes you feel the desire to take up the violin and run that bow as smoothly and delicately as only he knows how to do it. Clearly being in the presence of such a wonderful artist makes you see the world in a different way, at least for those moments ... if you already had the experience of listening to him, I'm sorry, there is no going back, you have only left the need to listen to artists as incredible as David Mendoza; and if you haven’t, you must, I promise you, you will not regret!

For his next concert he will share a musical genre that he knows the most… Tangos! Beside the Mexican talent Liliana Gutierrez at the piano, and the incredible French accordionist Camille García; This will take place at the beautiful patio in the important architectonic piece of San Miguel de Allende “Casa Rosada Hotel”. Ticket are available on Biblioteca Publica, Insurgentes #25, Centro, SMA.

How I see the world, my work, my art.

                                                                                                                     (English)

In a world where humanity is often judged by its skin color, or the clothes it wears, or religious or political customs, this hinders the core of admiring and understanding who the people are, their traditions, talents, and unique values, with their daily problems, and all that entails being a human being today, to appreciate this in the purest way, music and diverse arts actually serve as a catalyst and lure to the the true reason for being and the true existence of the human souls that roam and enrich the world with its glimmer, a world that for egos struggles becomes hell itself for millions of inhabitants, music, art itself, has been, is and will always be a documentary, of what happens today and now, that is the wonderful work of creating and sharing art. Creating an opportunity for people to reflect, understand, forgive, and follow our paths with a little less weight in our wandering souls. This is how I feel the world, my work, my art.
