By Elizabeth Nash One performer you must see if you are in San Miguel de Allende is David Mendoza, a young virtuoso from Mexico City that shines on the piano, drums and violin. He plays a wide range of music genres going from classic, romantic, Jazz, Rock, Mexican, South American folk music and more. He is also a great composer, graduated from National Conservatory of music from Mexico City, being a very natural and innovative creator, his followers call his music as Healing music, or in Mendoza’s own words: “Music is an eternal meditation, A profound healing in which dreams can be born, that will create a better reality” Mendoza has the peculiarity to touch souls with his violin, he often makes weep to his followers with his music. David has been praised by some of the best music teachers in town like the Grammy nominee composer from England Michael Hoppè that have David’s as his most recent violin player, praising Mendoza as ¨Wonderfully expressive violin playing, it’s quite simply…one of the most beautiful sounds you can hear”. It's quite normal seeing people who already know David´s capacity bringing their guests to his shows. After some months of traveling and playing in Canada, Mendoza returned to SM and started to give amazing concerts sharing some of the best artists in town, performing almost every genre with different musicians around Mexico. Something that only David can do in town. This time he will offer a BENEFIT CONCERT to SLSW, AC (SMA Missions) that provides medical and spiritual assistance to children from vulnerable sectors of Mexican society in rural and marginal urban areas. For this concert he will share one of the favorite genres of his followers, his gorgeous French/Argentinian Music Concert. Performing traditional French waltzes by Edith Piaf & Tony Murena, classical music by Erick Satie, also presenting Contemporary compositions by the French virtuosos Yann Tiersen and Renaud Garcia-Fons as well as Traditional Tangos and Modern French and Argentinian Tangos. This beside the best French Accordion player living in San Miguel Camille Garcia, the talented Edgar Bord on Bass, the amazing Carlos Vargas and the great drummer Israel Chavez. This will take place in the beautiful "Cafe Murmullo" on Ancha de San Antonio 24 Centro SMA, beside "Instituto Allende" Concert starts at 5:30 pm This an intimate indoor/outdoor venue with comfortable seating for no more than 100 people.
